96 acre track with over 570' on Big Reed Island Creek. Mostly wooded with some pasture land. Lots of nice trees including poplar, oak, white pine, maple, sycamores. There are service roads throughout the property that need some cleaning up but are perfect for hiking and ATV riding. Once above the pasture area, the property opens up nicely on what use to be an apple orchard. Below it sits what used to be a soap rock mine. There is a nice wetland space on one end. The old cabin is used for weekend stays. The wildlife is very abundant - deer, turkey bear, birds. A great place for hunting, hiking, retreat, family residence or getaway. People love to go tubing down the creek. Very secluded but not too far from the New River, New River Trail, Virginia Tech. 20 minutes to I-81, 30 to I-77. Less than an hour from North Carolina, a little over an hour to Roanoke, 1 1/2 hours to Tennessee and an hour to West Virginia. County has as 106 acres but preliminary survey shows 96.4.
